Edward Impastato
Since 1978, Mr. Impastato has been actively involved in valuations of business enterprises, securities and intangible assets. His industry experience includes companies in the manufacturing, merchandising, financial, real estate, media and communications, hospitality, service, and retail sectors. Mr. Impastato has managed, prepared and reviewed hundreds of valuation studies of public and private companies and intangible assets for a broad variety of purposes, including those for estate and gift tax, corporate tax, litigation support, FAS and other accounting and reporting purposes.
During his career, Mr. Impastato has done valuation projects for the following purposes, among others:
- Corporate tax, planning and recapitalizations
- Goodwill impairment testing
- FAS 141 and 142 compliance
- Mergers and acquisitions investigations
- Going private transactions
- Employee stock ownership plans
- Litigation and expert testimony
- Estate, gift, and income taxes
Ed has testified in deposition hearings and arbitration proceedings.
Mr. Impastato has been teaching Business Valuation at the New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies for the last 8 years.
Mr. Impastato is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and a member of the CFA Institute. He is also a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and a member of the Appraisal Issues Taskforce (AITF).
